Willkommen
The "Fantastic Road" is one of the newer tourist routes in Southwest Germany, taking you to some of the loveliest towns and cities in the state of Baden-Württemberg. From its northernmost point, Heidelberg, it stretches southwards for over 400 km to the shores of Lake Constance.
The Trail connects nine main locations representing the best and most beautiful that Germany can offer the traveller: each with a distinct character of its own, yet united by the same high quality. Apart from the oldest German universities, the route leads to an elegant thermal spa, a central wine region, Germany's biggest lake, and the ancestral castle of the last German emperors.
Your journey will take you to Neckar River, through the Black Forest and the Swabian mountain range Schwäbische Alb [Swabian Jura], charming landscapes to be enjoyed not only with the eyes, but also with
the tongue. The restaurants and hotels you will visit here are some of the very best, often having won international awards. The region has a long gourmet tradition!
You will discover that many musicians and men of letters have been there before you, taking inspiration for later works from the landscape through which this Fantastic winds its way. Allow yourself the pleasure of discovery.
If you can manage to forget the destination and to concentrate instead on "the way", the Fantastic Road is just right for you!
